Why this exists

Building got cheap. Picking got harder.

Anyone can ship a product in a weekend now. Choosing the market, finding the first hundred customers, setting a price, and owning a channel still take most founders years to learn, usually by losing one.

SaaSafras is the study of the companies that made it through. What they sold, who paid, what they charged, which channel carried them, and how long it took. Use it before you commit to a build, or after you shipped and nobody came.

What you get

Six things you get on every company.

01 / REVENUE

Revenue, with the label on it

The MRR or ARR figure for 112 companies, each tagged with what kind of number it is and where it came from. Ranges and "doing well" stay out of the database.

02 / CHANNEL

The first channel

How each company reached its first 1,000 users: the channel, the specific tactic, the year it happened.

03 / PRICING

Pricing structure

What they charge, how the tiers are cut, and which pricing moves came after the product found its footing.

04 / PLAYBOOK

Growth playbook

One acquisition breakdown per company, written from the founder's seat so you can run the same play.

05 / PATTERN

The one-line pattern

One sentence per company that names the move that worked. Read 150 of them in an hour.

06 / STAGE

Growth stage and moat

Where each company sits today (build, launch, operate, scale) and what makes it hard to kill.

Research reports

Playbooks by channel.

Nine reports, each built from the companies that share a channel. Read the SEO report and you see how 49 companies rank before they have a product. Read the audience-first report and you see who sold on day one and what they built first.

Why trust it

Every number has a source, a label, and a date.

Each revenue figure carries one of four labels: founder reported, publicly reported, estimated, or SaaSafras classification. When two sources disagree, both stay in the record with their type and date; nothing gets averaged.

141 of 150 rows carry a revenue figure and 112 of those are a dollar amount. Companies that shut down or got acquired keep their exit noted, so the survivors don't tell the whole story alone.

The full rules, the counts, and the known limits are on one page.
